When talking about airport car parking, we generally have 3 basic types of parking available that are related to airports . . . .

1. Park and ride

                   In this mode of parking you just simply park you car and take the bus service provided by the park and go to airport, you can park your car yourself or they can park for you. Some services keep your car keys and some don't.

                    If park and ride service is near to the airport, they tend to charge more and if far then its cheaper. This becomes a main drawback of the service keeping the aspect of travelling and moving your luggage with you in bus and all.

2. Meet and greet Parking

3. Airport Hotel with parking

                       Now days every airport that have a national or international flights have hotels around it for passengers, these hotels cater for special airlines on contract basis or are working individually. On the other hand for an individual it is good because they can park their cars in hotel parking if you are going for a holiday or business trip of 8 or more days.

Above mentioned ways are the three that are available to the passengers going to airport, every airport have their own mode of parking but all work around these three types. Saying that, in my personal experience meet and greet parking is the best of all, because you turn up to airport in your own car and hand it over to an agent of any professional valet service and go to your trip without a fuss or worry and when you come back you just call them and your car will be waiting for you outside the terminal for you to drive it home. Parallel parking

It is the simplest mode of parking and can be seen in most of the markets and street sides where one can stand exactly behind the other one and one car's front bumper is close to the other car's back bumper. It is common due to its execution and also because it takes less width of the road. Its technique is simple in which driver that wants to park his car past the parking space and then reverse to fit in that space. In easy words it can also be called in-line parking.

Perpendicular Parking 

This style of parking is more common in a lot of countries and cities with big road infrastructure . . . Most of times this sort of parking is used on both side of road front to front and aisles between them.

In this sort of parking cars can be parked in two ways back-in and front-in . . . . with back-in you can easily take out and move forward but with front-in you have to reverse and then turn on the road side to pull out, In some roads a center line is defined for such parking and driver can pull through and go forward with the traffic.

Angle

This is another form of parking which is most commonly used in Britain and is also called echelon parking. It is similar to perpendicular parking but cars are parked at an acute angle with the direction of approach. The gentle turn in parking slot makes it easier to park and it doesn't stop the cars coming behind the one which wants to park. 

Angle parking is very useful in parking lots, it may also be used in street side parking in U.S. Most of the residential car parking have this mode of parking enabled as this take less space and can be used for large number of car parking. this sort of parking is mostly designed as head-in but in some cities back-in parking is used too.

Besides these basic modes of vehicle parking, there are other options available to motorists to park their cars, for example in some cities where land is fairly expensive and therefore parking space is hard and expensive to hold, there are parking lots with attendants who take keys of your car and park them in perpendicular or parallel in there facility with minimum circulation aisles for the parking attendants. This sort of parking is called Attended Parking and if this sort of parking space is provided for customer of a  business, is called Valet Parking.
